Clay Barnes named assistant district lawyer for Maury County

A new assistant district attorney has been named in Maury County.

Life-very long Maury County resident Clay Barnes was sworn in to the position by Circuit Choose J. Russell Parkes on Tuesday and has considering that begun his new role this week. 

“I feel like it is a great honor to start out out my job in my home town,” Barnes reported. “It is a little something that I am actually proud of.”

Barnes will represent the district attorney’s place of work in Maury County Standard Classes courtroom both of those in Columbia and Mt. Nice as very well as the county’s juvenile court docket. 

“I am energized to get commenced,” Barnes claimed. “I want to make absolutely sure I can serve victims and the people of Maury County to the best of my skill.”

Barnes joins the office environment, pursuing a family legacy in local public assistance.

His wonderful grandfather, with whom he shares a name, was a founding member of the Maury County Civil Protection. The corporation was later transformed into the Maury County Hearth Office, which now features a crew of about 200 volunteer firefighters functioning from 12 stations throughout the county.

“It goes way back,” Barnes said.

His father, Mike Barnes, serves as chief deputy for the Maury County Sheriff’s Department, and his mother, Duane, has used considerably of her job serving as a lawful assistant at the Columbia-based mostly The Matthews Firm, PLLC.
