Aspect of I-40 in Fayette County was shut down Thursday night because of to police exercise, according to the Tennessee Freeway Patrol.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol shut all eastbound lanes of the interstate near exit 42 blocked. That is close to Somerville.
Video clip shared with FOX13 from drivers caught in site visitors reveals legislation enforcement encompassing a white pickup truck. Those drivers stated that authorities had been yelling at a gentleman named Frank to put a gun down and occur out of that truck with his hands up.
In the online video, it seems that authorities were being blocking westbound site visitors on I-40 in the area as effectively.
An additional driver advised FOX13 they heard law enforcement say to the guy in the truck “Come on out. Enable us assistance you.”
The incident that led to the interstate closure took place all-around 6:30 p.m., according to THP.
Some motorists who have been trapped in website traffic claimed that they read authorities telling the gentleman, “It’s only a stolen automobile.”
When FOX13′s Mandy Hrach produced the scene, she noticed a helicopter circling the region.
The exit ramp and both shoulders of that portion of the interstate were also shut, THP stated.
