Fireplace department: Crystal ball started off hearth in Wisconsin home

LAKE DELTON, Wis. — A glass “crystal ball” decoration positioned in a sunny location led to a residence fireplace, the Delton Fireplace Section explained. 

In a Fb post, the hearth division reported they ended up termed to a Delton house on Monday. When crews arrived, they observed seen smoke and found that the fire was just in the home’s dwelling room area. No a single was hurt, but the fireplace section stated harm was approximated at $250,000. 

When crews investigated, they explained they located the result in of the fire: a glass “crystal ball” on a desk in the vicinity of a sofa. The fire department reported when sunlight shone by the home windows and straight as a result of the ball, it ignited the couch. 

The Delton Fire Division cautioned individuals to preserve items like crystals, mirrors, glass decorations and bottles out of direct sunlight — specifically in the vicinity of just about anything flammable.
