Nancy Carol Tierney – Potomac Community News

Nancy Carol Tierney was an extraordinary spouse, mother, grandmother, sister and buddy. She passed absent on March 31, 2021 at the age of 73 right after a brave battle with most cancers, surrounded by loved ones who will honor her by dwelling their lives to the fullest.

On Could 11, 1947, Kenneth and Allene Hauck obtained a Mother’s Working day blessing when Nancy was born. Nancy grew up in Arlington and Springfield, VA right before going to Virginia Beach front. Lewis Substantial University) in Springfield, VA and went on to obtain a B.A. in History from the Higher education of William & Mary the place she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. Immediately after teaching in the Virginia Beach front general public college process and functioning with her father at the American Truckers Association, she worked as a legal assistant at the worldwide law organization Holland & Knight for over 30 years ahead of retiring in 2015.

Nancy met her foreseeable future partner, Jim Tierney, in Virginia Beach front, VA. Right after some adventures in seashore dwelling, Nancy and Jim swiftly fell in love and were being married in Elizabeth Town, NC on December 27, 1973. They moved to Lake Ridge, VA in which they elevated five (excellent) young children together: James, Jr., Erin, Shawn, Patrick and Shannon. Nancy also beloved her daughter-in-legislation, Jacqueline (Shawn’s wife), and adored her grandchildren: Kyle, Connor, Garrett, Kellen, Braden, Landon, Madeline, Ava and Zeke.

Nancy liked to assistance. She also was an avid sporting activities fan, and specifically beloved watching her children’s and grandchildren’s soccer games. She was exceptionally shut to her household, especially her aunt Hazel, uncle Cliff, and cousins Sandy and Brenda, her sister Terri, and her complete North Carolina relatives, Ann, Rod, Gail, Kim and Kara, Norman, Betty, Steve, Tamra, Don, John, Charles, and all of the some others, and their respective spouses and kids. She beloved traveling to the Outer Financial institutions, NC, Marco Island, FL and Salisbury, NC to take a look at her household.

She is deeply liked by her household, colleagues, and close friends, and nearly everybody who she arrived into contact with, such as people at the nearby pharmacy, grocery retailers, places to eat, hair salons, and even the manager at her go-to restaurant, Outback. She is survived by her partner, children, daughter-in-legislation, grandchildren, and her extended relatives and pals, who will all dearly miss her.
