Just 3 people today applied for the place of Dane County Sheriff, but a restricted application window and talented candidates could be to blame for the very low quantity of apps.

Recently appointed Dane County Sheriff Kalvin Barrett was sworn into workplace Monday. Gov. Tony Evers chosen him for the position in April.

In accordance to information the Wisconsin Point out Journal acquired under the community records regulation, Evers also deemed Dane County Sgt. Scott Lehmann and Ramon Batista, a previous law enforcement main in Mesa, Arizona, who was a finalist for the Madison police main situation.

Barrett, Batista and Lehmann have been the only applicants, said Steven Roets, authorized assistant for Evers’ place of work.
